Awakening from the unconsciousness induced by his father’s final, brutal beating, he groggily opened his eyes, cradling his throbbing head. Beside him, he noticed his father lying motionless, in a comatose state with an empty bottle of booze lying by his side. Stanley attempted to get up and noticed his pants were unbuckled and disheveled. He knew right then what had taken place. Rage and anger overcame him and the voices began speaking to him, coaxing him to commit murder. Evil was unleashed that day though it had already been there, lurking and waiting. Evil is an inevitable part of the human condition. Whether those acknowledge it or not, it is a conscious choice to be good or to succumb to it. Stanley’s thirst for blood only grew and manifested into something he could not control, a dark entity that would eventually consume him.
